DISK REPRODUCING SYSTEM

A disk reproducing system effectively utilizing the maximum reproduction speed and the maximum search speed that the system has. The objective position of a disk (2) on which data is recorded at a constant linear velocity is sought in response to an instruction from an external device. The objective information data is read and outputted in the reproduction format of the disk. If the address information about the latest address accessed in response to an access instruction is the address information recorded in a position outside the outermost address that has been accessed on the disk (2), the address information stored in an outermost address storage circuit (21) is changed to the latest address information. The criteria for the speed control of the disk (2) are determined according to the latest updated address information. A CAV control circuit (20) controls the speed of the disk (2) according to the determined criteria.
