An elevator communication controller in which individual control units and landing register control units each have a node and the nodes are interconnected through a network and each have a management table where the node numbers are correlated with the network addresses, comprising a node that transmits, to the other nodes, broadcast data to the effect that the node is a temporary master to which a first network address corresponding to its node number is added if the first network address is found to be a specific one by referring to the management table and behaves as a master when the node receives, from a second temporary master, broadcast data to the effect that the second temporary master is a temporary master to which a second network address corresponding to its node number is added and when the first and second network addresses fulfill a specific condition, and a node that behaves as a slave if the first network address is found to be not the specific one or if the first and second addresses do not fulfill the specific condition.
