<p>A seat restraint tensioner (10) for a seat restraint system (12) in a vehicle (14) includes a housing (40) for operative connection to vehicle structure and a movable piston (52) disposed in the housing (40). The seat restraint tensioner (10) also includes a gas generator (84) operatively connected to the housing (40) for expelling a gas to move the piston (52). The piston (52) includes a passageway (58) extending therethrough to control a rate of stroke of the piston (52) when the gas is generated to apply a force for pulling-down belt webbing (26) of the seat restraint system (12).</p> |
