992,933. Hydraulic transmission of power. CINCINNATI MILLING MACHINE CO. April 28, 1964 [Aug. 28, 1963], No. 17637/64. Heading F2C. An hydraulic motor 18 supplied by a pump 20 through a line 23 is also supplied by an auxiliary source of fluid stored under pressure, e.g. an accumulator 30, through a blocking valve 32 and a line 38 during such times as the speed of the motor 18 falls below a predetermined value, e.g. on a sudden increased load exerted by a workpiece 19 on a cutting tool 16 driven by the motor 18. The outlet 26 of the motor is connected to a sump 22 through lines 29a, 29b and a throttle valve 27 whereby back pressure is allowed to build up in said line 29a which is connected by a line 40 to the operating port 39 of the valve 32 and serves to hold a plunger 41 against a spring 42 so as to close an inlet port 36 connected to the accumulator 30 and an outlet port 37 connected by line 38 to the motot inlet 25; the ports 36, 37 being opened by said plunger when pressure in line 40 falls. |
