A gas turbine engine wherein the axial section of an annular inner peripheral wall surface having the blade main body of a turbine blade connected thereto is provided with concave and convex portions on the front and rear edge sides. In the concave portion, the curvature has a negative value and is concaved toward the axis, while in the convex portion, the curvature has a positive value and is convexed away from the axis. The flow velocity in the upper surface of the blade main body is reduced by the concave portion on the front edge side to prevent the generation of shock waves, while the flow velocity is increased by the convex portion on the rear edge side leading from the concave portion, whereby the flow velocity in the upper surface of the blade main body can be smoothly varied to minimize the pressure loss. Thereby, while securing the performance of the gas turbine engine, the wall-thickness of the blade main body can be reduced to contribute to weight reduction.
