The hydraulic transformer has several impellers (14) in a cylinder (18) and a control element (22) which can be adjusted by a setting device (32, 34, 36). The setting mechanism includes a drive motor, which is in working connection with the control element via a toothed belt. The control element may be a disk with outer teeth to engage with the toothed belt.
