The sleeve comprise an inner preferably dual-layered tube of expandable material connected to an outer shape-stable jacket tube (4) which has at its ends support discs (8) or bushes which have at least sections whose bores match the diameter of the roller (1) for tight fit. The jacket tube can be connected by end sockets to the inner tube whereby the sockets have blind hole bores into which the support discs are fitted.
