A rotary printing machine has a print form (21) produced on the surface of the print drum by a multi beam laser (22). The laser receives processed commands in the form of coded data (36.1). The data is dependent upon colours ,type of paper ,humidity, temperature ,surface characteristics etc.This provides a bit map of the print form.
