A DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER

Disclosed is a method and associated apparatus for the diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD. The method comprises measuring a person's ability to visually track a moving object during the performance of a motor task in relation to the moving object. In particular, the onset and duration of visual tracking and the frequency of tracking deviation is measured during the performance of a motor task. The method further comprises measuring the ability of a person to successfully perform the motor task. These measurements are then compared to non-ADHD standards to diagnose ADHD. An apparatus is disclosed comprising means for visually displaying a moving object to a person, means for measuring the person's visual tracking of the object and means for measuring a person's ability to perform a motor task in relation to the moving object.
