PURPOSE: A folder-type cellular phone in which a cover including a display at its external surface is glidingly opened and closed is provided to receive a call or confirm a message in a state in which a cover is closed. CONSTITUTION: A telephone transmitting portion(24) is composed in a lower portion of a front surface of a body(20), and a plurality of buttons(22) are installed on an upper portion of the body(20). A cover(30) is connected to the body(20), and a display(34) for displaying characters and numbers on an external surface of a closed state and a telephone receiving portion(32) are installed in the cover(30). A sliding opening and closing device glidingly opens and closes the cover(30) as to the body(20). A send/end button(26) is installed at one side on the convert(30) and the body(20). An antenna(40) is installed at one side of an upper surface of the body(20). A call reception and a message reception are performed by operating the send/end button(26) in a state in which the cover(30) is closed.
