PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas refractometer capable of suppressing local variation of the density of a gas under test due to the transfer of a reflecting mirror and improving measurement accuracy in a short time by feeding a laminar flow of the gas under test to a path of a gas laser beam. SOLUTION: The laminar flow 51 of the gas under test has been fed to an entire optical measurement path between the gas side reflecting mirror 13B and a gas laser interferometer 30 formed by a gas laser beam Pb. This makes the density of the gas constant on the entire path, and it is possible to keep a refractive index of the gas always at the same level. Thus, the accuracy of the measurement can be improved with no waiting time until the turbulence of the gas is lost.
