A connecting line (13) with a throttle (14) links the upper and lower chambers (3.1,3.2,4.1,4.2) of one of the two double acting cylinders (3,4). A channel (17,18) with a non return valve (19,20) is provided within the piston (5,6) of each cylinder. The non return valve allows fluid from the upper to lower chambers of each cylinder. Each piston partitions the upper and lower chambers. Both ends of the piston rod (9,10) extend outward from the ends of the cylinder. The cylinders are connected to the tensioning pulley (2.1). The fluid flow between chambers, through the connecting line, damps movement of the pulley to a predetermined direction along the piston rod longitudinal axis. |
