SUBSTANCE: position detector has inductance coils mounted inside sealed package with magnetic shunt installed outside the latter; inductance coils are arranged so that their magnetic field is transversal to shunt motion; distance between adjacent coils equals length of each of them; shunt length is greater than half the working travel of control element.
