PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an acid hair dye composition excellent in dyeing effects on the hair and further excellent in finishing effects such as impartment of a good touch and a lustrous feeling to the hair after hair dyeing. SOLUTION: This acid hair dye composition is characterized in that the hair dye composition comprises (A) 0.01-5 mass % of an acid dye, (B) 0.5-15 mass % of an aromatic alcohol, (C) 0.01-5 mass % of a polyoxyalkylene-modified organopolysiloxane represented by the general formula (1) (wherein, R denotes a 1-8C alkyl group; (n) denotes an integer of 2-15; (a) denotes an integer of 10-30: and (b) denotes an integer of 5-25) and (D) an acid, and the pH is within the range of 2-5.
