PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite yarn rich in stretchability and assuming excellent fullness feeling, firmness, stiffness and repulsive feeling, to provide a method for producing the composite yarn and to obtain a woven or a knitted fabric thereof. SOLUTION: This composite textured yarn comprises a polyester multifilament yarn A prepared by laminating polymers different in intrinsic viscosity into a side-by-side state and uniformly combined with a polyester multifilament yarn B having a higher shrinkage percentage in boiling water than that of the yarn A without a core-sheath structure in which the shrinking force of the yarn A is not restrained thereby. The method for producing the composite textured yarn comprises subjecting a polyester multifilament yarn comprising the yarn A and the yarn B to air interlacing and subsequently carrying out false twist texturing.
