PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject inhibitor higher in activity than glucagon in the relaxation effect on the gastric smooth muscle, and effective in the treatment prior to examinations including digestive tract examination, X-ray gastrointestinal examination, abdominal MRI examination and endoscopy. SOLUTION: This digestive tract movement inhibitor comprises, as active ingredient, a peptide shown in (a) or (b) described below, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof: (a) a peptide having an amino acid sequence shown in sequence No.1 in the sequence table (See the specification), or (b) a peptide having an amino acid sequence where one or several amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence mentioned in (a), and having smooth muscle inhibitory activity on the stomach.
