PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonization device requiring only one burner to be installed and emitting neither smoke nor odor. SOLUTION: This carbonization device 1 comprises a carbonizing chamber 3 for smothering combustible organic matter therein, a heating chamber 2 having a burner 8 and formed so as to surround the carbonizing chamber 3, and a gas passage 5 for leading unburnt gas generated in the carbonizing chamber 3 to the vicinity of the burner 8, wherein a catalyst 7 promoting gas combustion is set at the gas passage 5. |
