PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door catching detecting device for a vehicle precisely deciding that a person or a bag is caught in a door. SOLUTION: A car body side microcomputer sets a door catching decision value P3 based on a presser force P0 acting on a door tip rubber under the closed state of the door and decides the presence/absence of the door catching by comparing a pressure P2' when the door is closed from an opened state with a door catching decision value P3. In this case, when the door tip rubber is excessively pressurized by a counter part under a closed state of the door, the door catching decision value P3 is set according to the excessive presser force P0 and, when a clearance is formed between the door tip rubber and the counter part under the closed state of the door 2, the door catching decision value P3 is set based on the presser force P0 according to the clearance, so that the presence/absence of the door catching can be precisely decided.
