PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble filament nonwoven fabric which comprises PVA-based filaments produced by a melt-spinning method, is adhered only by a heat pressure fusion method, has a good texture and excellent nonwoven fabric physical properties, and is used for chemical lace substrates. SOLUTION: This polyvinyl alcohol-based filament spun bond nonwoven fabric for chemical lace substrates is obtained by melt-spinning (C) thermoplastic polyvinyl alcohol containing a specific amount of (B) an acid having an acid group exhibiting a constant dissociation degree based on (A) polyvinyl alcohol, pulling and finely dividing the spun filament group by the use of a suction spray device, collecting and accumulating the opened filaments on a movable collection conveyer to form a filament web, and then applying a partial heat pressure fusion treatment to the web with a heat emboss device. The single filament fineness of the polyvinyl alcohol-based filaments, the METSUKE of the nonwoven fabric and the water dissolution temperature of the nonwoven fabric are within constant ranges, respectively.
