PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful producing method in which, as at the time of producing a precipitation type alloy precipitation which affects mechanical properties occurs during a hot rolling process, the inconvenience is prevented and, as the result, variation in strength or the like small, heat resistance can be improved, and further the production cost is kept relatively low. SOLUTION: When producing a precipitation type copper alloy containing 0.05 to 4 mass % Fe which is precipitations essentially consisting of Fe, a slab continuously cast to a thickness of <=40 mm is directly carried to an annealing furnace. The sheet obtained is held to (the solid solution limit temperature in which precipitations are again melted into solid solution minus 50 deg.C) to (the melting point minus 30 deg.C) for >=5 min, is subjected to a homogenizing treatment and is directly cooled to <=300 deg.C at a cooling rate of >=10 deg.C/s.
