996,514. Haymaking machines. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. Sept. 12, 1962 [Oct. 12, 1961], No. 34858/62. Heading A1F. A rake-wheel, for a haymaking machine, of the kind having a central region 2 and a rim 3 interconnected solely by resilient spokes 4, 5, wherein the effective radial length of each spoke is not less than “ of the overall diameter of the rake-wheel, is characterized in that the part of the spoke between the rim and the fastening point 8 of the spoke to the central region includes at least three relatively-inclined portions. As shown, the spokes are double and have outer ends which extend beyond the rim to form tines 20. At the places where the spokes pass through the rim, the latter is fitted with bearing brushes 18. The inner ends of the spokes 4, 5 are united by a hairpin-bend 6 secured by a bolt 8 and washer 7. The intermediate portions of the spokes consist of a series of sinusoidal bends 9-15, the lowermost bends 15 extending in the opposite direction to the tine-portions 20 which are backwardly bent relative to the direction of rotation P. The invention is particularly applicable to power-driven rake-wheels.
