SUBSTANCE: directional coupler has two electromagnetically coupled transmission lines with steplessly varying linear parameters formed on opposite sides of thin insulating layer with lines fully applied in their central part; novelty is that both halves of each transmission line are electromagnetically intercoupled. Directional coupler is built around standard thin insulating films and main insulating sheets providing for band coverage coefficients of about 10.
