PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen shutter for a fire compartment which can wind a screen curtain around a winding shaft with an equal winding diameter on the whole even when the screen curtain has thicker portions, ensure the rotational stability in winding and unwinding the screen curtain, and prevent the screen curtain from being wrinkled. SOLUTION: The non-combustible or fireproof and flexible screen curtain 11 is wound around the winding shaft 13 and stored, and unwound from the winding shaft 13 to partition an internal space of a building. The screen curtain 11 has thicker portions 25 in a part of its width direction, and for other portions than the thicker portions 25, a thickness adjusting curtain 30 having the thickness corresponding to the thicker portions 25 is wound around the winding shaft 13.
