FILMY WATER ABSORBING MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filmy water absorbing material having (the) biodegradation property, suitable flexibility and tensile strength of 20 MPa or more in drying and excellent absorbing capacity of aqeous sodium chloride solution in water absorbing and provide a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: The filmy water absorbing material is composed of galactomannan or its derivative and polyvalent metal ion. This material is characterized in that the water absorbing capacity of both deionized water and aqeous sodium chloride solution of 5 mass % or below is 20 times or more of each own weight.
