PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel pattern cloth contrived to enable easy making of a patchwork in a stained-glass style, in particular, and a method for the patchwork using the same. SOLUTION: The pattern cloth 1 for the patchwork comprised of fringe lines 2 for a design of pieces constituted of a plurality of colored or patterned cloths, cut-off lines 3 inside the lines 2 and a print cloth to which the numbers, marks or names of the individual pieces are put, and the method for the patchwork, are provided. The pattern cloth 1 is cut along the cut-off lines 3 and a patchwork piece 7 conforming to the number, mark or name of the cut part is put on each cut part from the rear and joined thereto by blind-stitching the periphery along the fringe lines 2. This technique is repeated sequentially.
