PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple carbonization furnace capable of shortening time from firing from the firing port of the furnace to ignition of a carbonization material and easily putting the carbonization material in and off while giving a high yield. SOLUTION: This simple carbonization furnace is constituted by bringing the part from its firing port to its exhaust port to be an integrated box body, vertically installing a partition wall in the inside of the box body, forming a space in the top end ranging whole lateral area of the inside wall of the box body to bring the space to have an interval corresponding to <=25% of the height in the box shaped furnace and bringing one area partitioned with the aforesaid inside partition wall in the furnace to be a carbonization material- holding part and the other area to be a flame passage to form a lattice and a burning place.
