<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for implementing a proper and short-time piping system wall thickness control. SOLUTION: The thickness of wall of pipe 11 of piping made of carbon steel and low alloy steel is measured by use of a wall thickness measuring unit 21, having a wall thickness measuring part measuring the wall thickness of the pipe 11 and a data transmitting and receiving part. Thereafter, wall thickness measurment data of the pipe 11, sent from the data transmission and reception part of the unit 21, are outputted to a computer 42 connected to a pipe wall thickness database system having a data transmission and reception function existing in a plant office 31, through a communication repeater 51 existing in the structure of plant. Then, the wall thickness data measured by usde of the unit 21 is stored in the database system.</p> |
