PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding drum for an optical cable and the like capable of firmly securing a drum and both flanges using parts made of paper including corru gated cardboard, surely preventing damage, being easily disassembled and assembled, and easily disposable of. SOLUTION: This winding drum for the optical cable and the like consists of the drum made of paper, a parting flange made of paper, one and the other flanges made of paper, and a locking tool. The drum is formed into a cylindrical shape by engaging both ends and provided with plurality of one flange locking pieces comprising a locking groove at a root part thereof at one end and plurality of the other flange locking pieces comprising the locking groove at a part on a tip side thereof at the other end. The parting flange made of paper comprises insertion holes for the other locking piece formed such that plurality of the other flange locking pieces of the drum are inserted and is formed with a cutout part in an outer peripheral part. One and the other flanges where one and the other flange locking pieces are inserted are formed with flange locking piece insertion holes, and a part of one and the other flanges can be inserted into the locking groove at the root part. The locking tool is formed with a locking piece inserted into a gap part of the flange locking piece insertion hole of either of one and the other flanges.
