PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photosensitive material which uses a high boiling point organic solvent having high dissolution power, excellent in dispersibility and dispersion stability and less liable to affect the environment, improves the fastness and stain of a color image, the fog and contrast reduction of an emulsion due to storage and the preservability of a latent image and restrains various adverse actions due to the transfer of a dispersion medium in storage. SOLUTION: The silver halide photosensitive material contains a non-color forming compound of formula (I), wherein R1 is H or a 1-10C unsubstituted alkyl; Ra, Rb and R2-R8 are each H or a 1-10C unsubstituted alkyl; (l), (m) and (n) are each an integer of 0-5, in the case of 1>=2, plural symbols R6 may be mutually the same or different, in the case of m>=2, plural symbols R7 may be mutually the same or different, in the case of n>=2, plural symbols R8 may be mutually the same or different; and the total number of carbon atoms in Ra, Rb and R1-R8 is >=3.
