PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition excellent in melt flowability, residence stability, etc., when being molded, and to provide optical components such as an optical disk substrate, a pick up lens, a plastic substrate for liquid crystal cells, a prism and an optical fiber which are obtained from the resin composition, are high in transparency and are excellent in a hue. SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises a polycarbonate copolymer having structural units represented by general formulas (1-a) and (2-a) (R1 and R3 are each an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a nitro group or a halogen atom; R2 is H or methyl group; k and l are each an integer of 0 to 3; and m and n are each an integer of 0 to 20 with proviso that m+n is not equal to 0), and an epoxy compound alone or together with a phosphonic ester compound. The optical components are obtained by molding the resin composition.
