METHOD FOR PRODUCING LIGHTWEIGHT COMPOSITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lightweight composite in which plural number of foamed particles of thermoplastic resin are integrated by a thermosetting resin in a short time. SOLUTION: This method for producing the lightweight composite is characterized by comprising (i) a step of obtaining a mixture prepared by coating the formed particle composed of the thermoplastic resin having >=120 deg.C Vicat softening point and/or >=135 deg.C melting point with an initial condensate of the thermosetting resin, (ii) a step of filling the mixture into a mold, (iii) a step of compressing the mixture and (iv) a step of heating the mixture by dielectric heating to cure the thermosetting resin and controlling the maximum temperature when curing the thermosetting resin to a lower value than the melting point of the base resin composing the foamed particle when the base resin is a crystalline resin or to a lower value than the glass transition temperature of the base resin composing the foamed particle when the base resin is an amorphous resin.
