PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a printing material for a height- definition thermal transfer printer having excellent weather resistance and discoloring properties, durability and productivity of a practical level. SOLUTION: The resin composition for the printing material for the thermal transfer printer comprises a polyurethane resin emulsion having a polycarbonate chain or a polycarbonate chain and a polyester chain in a molecule and a mean particle size of 3.0 μm or less.
