PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail snow melting device having improved thermal efficiency and hardly causing the extinction of a burner. SOLUTION: The rail snow melting device 1 comprises the burner 6 opposed to a recessed portion 3 on the side face of a rail 2 and an exhaust cover 7 provided on the side of the recessed portion 3 of the burner 6, extending along the longitudinal direction of the rail 2. The exhaust cover 7 formed into an approximate box open at the side of the rail 2 is used to encircle a combustion chamber 8 of the burner 6. An exhaust passage 9 is formed in a space to the recessed portion 3 for guiding an exhaust gas from the combustion chamber 8 along the longitudinal direction of the rail 2.
