PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste carbonizing/melting mechanism, and more specifically a mechanism for carbonizing and melting waste involving organic waste. SOLUTION: A carbonizing/melting mechanism for waste includes a process of carbonizing organic waste components in the reductive atmosphere in a carbonizing furnace, a process of mixing a thermit agent into the carbonized waste, and a process of heating and melting the waste in which the thermit agent is mixed. The foregoing organic waste components is carbonized with the reductive high temperature gas produced with the heating/melting processing.
