PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which allows the easy discovery and observation of a hidden mark of a lens for spectacles, etc. SOLUTION: The device for observing the hidden mark of the lens consists of a housing 11 having an aperture atop the same, a light source 12 housing into the housing, a background member 14 which is housed in the housing 11 and exists below the aperture 13, an eyepiece 15 for observing the hidden mark of the lens to be inspected and a supporting member for supporting the eyepiece so as to be connecter with the housing and to exist above the aperture. The light source is arranged outside the visual field past the aperture of the eyepiece and the background member for observation is a dark color background member or wither a bark color background member having a reflection member for reflecting the light from the light source or a background member having patterns varying in contrast ratios at a single color phase.
