PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device, capable of close a door body well even in the case of a power failure by simplifying the composition of a means for opening a sliding door by an electric operation and closing the door by a self-closing device. SOLUTION: In the sliding door device, the opening actuation of the door body is performed by an electric driving mechanism, and the closing actuation of the door body is performed by a self-closing mechanism. The self-closing force of the self-closing mechanism is set for a force which does not interfere with the opening actuation of the driving mechanism and is greater than a speed-increasing starting torque of the driving mechanism.
