PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellulosic biodegradable sheet having a high breaking length and good even in flexibility from cellulose as a material and to provide a method for producing the sheet. SOLUTION: This cellulosic biodegradable sheet consists essentially of cellulose microfibers and a trehalose. The mixing ratio of the cellulose microfibers: trehalose is preferably (90:10) to (60:40) and chitosan is further preferably contained. The cellulosic biodegradable sheet can be produced by casting an aqueous dispersion of the cellulose microfibers containing the trehalose dissolved therein onto a substrate, drying the cast dispersion and forming the sheet.
