PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermotropic liquid crystal terpolyester capable of melt processing. SOLUTION: The manufacturing a liquid crystal terpolymer capable of melt processing, expressed in general formula I is characterized by in-situ acetylation of (4-hydroxyphenyl) acetic acid/3(4-hydroxyphenyl) propionic acid and a monomer selected from hydroquinone/4,4'-biphenol/2,6-naphtylenediol and subsequent acidolysis with or without solvent under reduced pressure so that acetic acid is effectively removed to form a product having a higher molecular weight.
