摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display device, in which generation of display failures or the like can be suppressed and difference in the quantity of transmitted light by the wavelength in pixels can be compensated for. SOLUTION: A color filter 12 having color plates R, G, B, top coat 13, counter electrode 14 and alignment film 15 are successively deposited on a substrate 11. A step-forming film 3, having different film thickness corresponding to the color plates R, G, B, is formed on a substrate 1 and lines 2 facing the substrate 11. Pixel electrodes 4 are formed on the step-forming film 3 and the upper faces are covered with an alignment film 5 and planarized. The alignment film 5 is formed to have the film thickness dP'(R), dP'(G), dP'(B) corresponding to the color plates R, G, B. Each film thickness is determined, in such a manner that the difference in the quantity of transmitted light by the wavelength is compensated for the halftone range.
