PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base mold of the bottle forming machine which can efficiently take away heat from the bottle at the finishing of the glass bottle, and does not cool the inner surface of the finisher too much at the cooling of the bottle; and to provide a method of making the bottle using this base mold. SOLUTION: This base mold is equipped with squirt holes 19 to squirt cooling air 8 from the blower system upwards and inwards against the top surface 12a of the base mold which holds the bottom of the formed bottle 13.
