LEATHER-LIKE SHEET BASE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber forming a colored ultrafine polyamide fiber having excellent spinning process stability and physical properties without causing the bending and breakage troubles in the melt-spinning of a mass-colored polyamide fiber even if the polyamide contains a colorant at a high concentration and to produce a leather-like sheet base having dense color and good mechanical properties by using the fiber. SOLUTION: The objective leather-like sheet base is composed of ultrafine polyamide fibers of <=0.1 dtex and an elastic polymer. The polyamide constituting the ultrafine polyamide fiber has a number-average molecular weight of 11,000-20,000 and contains 3-10% carbon black. The melt flow rate of the ultrafine polyamide fiber resin containing the carbon black is 3-7.
