PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal quality inspection method of produce and its device capable of inspecting well-balanced proper ripeness of the whole produce such as a melon or the like. SOLUTION: In an arrangement of the internal quality inspection device, there are equipped a light source part 10 for projecting pulsing light to the produce, light receiving parts 40 installed on the side of the produce relative to the optical axis, for detecting the intensity of emitted pulsing light emitted from the surfaces of the produce, and a discrimination part 60 for discriminating ripeness or the like corresponding to a detection level. The light receiving parts 40 are arranged so as to detect the intensity of emitted pulsing light in each divided region, and the discrimination part 60 inputs detection levels in each region and executes classified determination.
