PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the capacity of a compression mechanism with good follow up performance. SOLUTION: The cooling system controls the capacity of a compression mechanism (21) with the low refrigerant pressure of a refrigerant cycle (20) in a vapor compression refrigeration cycle. When the refrigerant temperature on the delivery side of the compression mechanism (21) reaches a specified level, capacity of the compression mechanism (21) is controlled to decrease preferentially to control with the low refrigerant pressure. A bypass solenoid valve (63) is opened/closed to supply the low refrigerant pressure to the suction side of the compression mechanism (21). When the high refrigerant pressure reaches a specified level, the compression mechanism (21) is temporarily stopped preferentially to control with the low refrigerant pressure on the suction side. When the capacity of the compression mechanism (21) is equal to the capacity of the compression mechanism (21) when it is stopped previously and the r.p.m. of a fan (15) stored in an r.p.m. storing means (76) is equal to the r.p.m. of the fan (15) when it is stopped previously, the compression mechanism (21) is restarted while decreasing the capacity.
