PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device using a backlight which illuminates through the back face of a liquid crystal panel with light and to provide a device, in which display uneveness is suppressed and proper display is obtained. SOLUTION: A light guide plate 2 is disposed in the back face side of the liquid crystal panel 1, a linear light source 5 is disposed in the side of the light guide plate 2, and holding members 6 are attached to both ends of the light source 5 to house the light guide plate 2, light source 5 and the like in a frame body 8. The holding member 6 has a contact part 15, in contact with the light guide plate 2, where the contact part 15 is disposed on the counter face to the light guide plate 2 and in the part which is farthest from the light source. |
