METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING AND RECOVERING METAL AND SLAG IN METAL-CONTAINING RAW MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for separating and recovering metal-containing raw material for easily separating recovered material reduction- treated with a rotary kiln into metal and slag and recovering them at high recovering ratio. SOLUTION: In the method, when only the metal in the metal-containing material is melted by using the rotary kiln and the molten metal and the solid or semi-melting state slag are discharged from an opening hole end at the downstream side, the molten metal is dropped from the lowermost part in the opening hole end at the downstream side, the slag, on the other hand, is dropped from the rear part in the rotating direction of the opening hole end at the downstream side by utilizing the difference between liquid and solid to separate and recover the metal and the slag.
