PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic image diagnostic device with which useful doagnostic images are obtainable from the higher harmonic components in echo signals and the diagnosis of internal organ diseases, etc., may be easily carried out. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic image diagnostic device which transmits and receives ultrasonic waves into and from the inside of an organism, captures echo signals, forms ultrasonic images and displays the same has a nonlinear amplifier 11 which forms the odd order higher harmonic components from the received echo signals by executing a nonlinear amplification having max. gain at the transmitting frequency and an HPF 12 which removes the basic wave components in the echo signals.
