PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a web, forming a coating film uniform in thickness on the surface of the web without generating a flaw such as a coating stripe or coating irregularity even if the web runs at a high speed. SOLUTION: In the method and apparatus for manufacturing the web by applying a coating solution A to the surface of the running web W by a coating nozzle 1 extending so as to traverse the web W and leveling the coating solution A by a metering bar 2 to form a coating film, the web W is passed on the surface on the side of the discharge orifice of the coating nozzle 1 so as to be bent and deflected and the web winding angleαformed by the advance direction to the coating nozzle 1 and the separation direction therefrom is set to 0.5-5 deg.C.
