PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life and high-performance coated tool capable of elaborately meeting individual characteristic standards demanded for each cutting surface. SOLUTION: A cutting surface of a surface of a tool 1 is divided into a plural number of regions 1c, 1e, and a tool base material is covered with coating films 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b each of which is individually made of a single layer or a plural layers on each of the regions 1c, 1e. Additionally, the layers (main layers) 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b largest in thickness on the coating film are set as the material layers 2b, 3b different from each other between the regions 1c, 1e.
