PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the response to the supply start/stop of a coating material by shortening the cleaning time for color change, decreasing the quantity of the waste coating material and waste thinner, reducing the lag time when mixing ratio is changed and preventing the change of mutual mixing ratio caused by the effect of the change of supply pressure of each coating material in the case of mixing and applying plural coating materials. SOLUTION: A valve unit (2) having coating material selective valves (V11-V32) each connected to a coating material supply passage (6) through respective check valves (7) and a coater main body (3) incorporating a tubular static mixer (8) for mixing plural coating materials fed through the coating material supply passage (6) are integrally formed and a valve structure (10) for opening and closing a discharge port (4) of the static mixer (8) is provided in the static mixer (8).
