PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and stably electrify plastic pieces. SOLUTION: The triboelectrification device 1 for electrifying the plastic pieces supplied to an electrostatic sorter utilizing static electricity is provided with a horizontal cylindrical rotary container 11 which is rotated around its axial center by a container treating device 12. A supply port 11b for supplying the plastic pieces is formed on one end side of the rotary container 11 and a discharge port lid is formed on the other end side. The rotary container 11 is internally provided with partition plates 15 at each of prescribed spacings in the axial central direction. Notched parts 15a for feeding are formed at the adjacent partition plates 15 in the positions apart 180 deg.C from each other against the partition plates. These partition plates 15 are provided with raking up members. The inside surface of the rotary container 11, the partition plates 15 and the raking up members 16 are covered with resins of prescribed material to be rubbed.
